DJ students can bring their own setup or train on BOJAK’s AlphaTheta XDJ AZ controller. Production and piano lessons focus on practical fundamentals, music theory, creative decision-making, and building skills you can actually use.

The Academy is built from both sides of the craft: years of formal musicianship and the practical experience of working full-time as both a DJ and producer across real rooms, real clubs, and festival stages.
CLASSICAL FOUNDATION
BOJAK is a classically trained musician and was an auditioned member of the National Piano Guild for 10 years, achieving high recognition for superior performance.
FULL-TIME ARTIST EXPERIENCE
As a full-time DJ and producer, BOJAK actively performs at premier San Diego venues including NOVA SD, Spin, EQ, and the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, with festival experience at events including Insomniac's Into the Horizon.

CLEAR FROM THE START.
Minimum session is 1 hour. Most students book 2 hours per session. Package hours can be spread across multiple sessions however you want. Rates apply to DJ, production, and piano lessons.

MIXING + THEORY
Phrasing, beatmatching, EQ, gain staging, harmonic mixing, transitions, loops, effects, timing, and understanding why a mix works instead of memorizing tricks.

06 / GEAR + LOCATION
TRAIN WHERE IT
MAKES THE MOST SENSE.
- BOJAK’s residence. Train in a private setting with an AlphaTheta XDJ AZ controller available by arrangement.
- Your residence. BOJAK can travel throughout the San Diego area and teach directly on the equipment you already use.
- Third-party professional studio. Train on club-standard CDJs, an RMX effects unit, and a professional sound system. The student covers the studio hourly rental cost in addition to the lesson rate.
- Any DJ software or equipment. Proficient across all DJ software and equipment. Rekordbox is free and is the recommended starting point, while AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ gear are recommended for students who want a workflow that translates best to professional club environments.
- More experienced DJs can focus. Advanced transitions, club workflow, technical refinement, set construction, performance preparation, and developing a stronger personal style.

GET STARTED.
I've never DJed before. Is that okay?
Yes. Complete beginners are welcome. We can start from equipment basics, music organization, phrasing, and your first clean transitions.
Do I need my own equipment?
No. BOJAK can provide an AlphaTheta XDJ AZ controller by arrangement. You can also learn on your own controller, or choose the third-party studio option for club-standard CDJs, an RMX effects unit, and a professional sound system.
What software do you teach?
BOJAK is proficient across all DJ software and equipment, so lessons can adapt to the platform and setup you use. Rekordbox is free, and AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ gear are recommended for students who want a workflow that translates best to professional club environments.
Where do lessons happen?
All lessons are in-person in the San Diego area. Sessions can happen at BOJAK’s residence, at the student’s residence, or at a third-party professional studio. The student covers the studio hourly rental cost for that option.
Do you teach music production and piano too?
Yes. Beginner FL Studio production lessons and beginner piano and music theory lessons are available at the same rates. Production can cover workflow, arrangement, drums, sound selection, melody crafting, and music theory. Piano lessons can cover chords, scales, rhythm, melody, ear training, and foundational theory.
Can I split a package into multiple sessions?
Yes. The 4-hour and 6-hour packages can be spread across multiple sessions however makes the most sense for your goals and schedule.
I'm already DJing. Can you help me level up?
Absolutely. More experienced DJs can focus on advanced transitions, set construction, harmonic and music theory, club workflow, performance preparation, technical troubleshooting, and developing a stronger personal style.
